What ? The Duck
Hi!
Here’s my game for the InboundShovel Jam 2025!
It’s a classic 2D platformer, but I added some point-and-click elements
If you play too quickly, you might skip some of the dialogue. So if you want to experience the full story, take your time!
The whole game takes around 15 minutes to finish.
The story: You’ve been sent by the government to protect the world from a microwave that's threatening humanity. With help from two control tower operators, your mission is to reach the microwave and buy them enough time to hack into it and shut it down.
Both the hero and the villain had spent their lives doing nothing special. Then they both decided that if they wanted to change, all they had to do was just get started !
The game is purposely weird, so don’t take it seriously !
I'm French and my English isn’t perfect at all, but I hope the dialogues will still be understandable
Controls:
- A/D (or Q/D) to move
- Spacebar to jump
- Left Click to interact with certain objects
- Escape to pause the game (added at the last minute, so it’s a bit messy)
I started learning Godot two months ago, and right around that time, I came across the announcement video for the game jam. The timing was perfect for me! Thanks, InboundShovel!
There are a lot of things I wish I’d had more time for, like creating more music, character animations, or intro and ending cutscenes. But overall, I’m really happy with what I made for my first Game Jam.
There are probably some bugs, especially one where the mouse button doesn’t always work. I have no idea why it happens... it’s driving me crazy...
I learned a lot, felt stressed at times, but most importantly, I had fun, and that’s what really matters!
Visuals, code, and music were all made by me during the jam. It’s not perfect, but I gave it my best with the time I had!
Hope you have fun too!
